What to do when Yoga worsens Back Pain

Liz Bennett is an experienced teacher of Applied Yoga Anatomy and Physiology and yoga teacher. Liz has practised as a physio for over 13 years in a variety of rehabilitation, hospital and clinical settings. Motor control of the body is a dance of strength, awareness and skill. Within this dance is the integrating element of the breath. Studies of lower back pain sufferers show that a loss of motor control is associated with the presence of chronic pain.You will learn why "core stability" exercises sometimes don't work, why some yoga postures can perpetuate lower back pain, practical methods of relearning motor control and "core stability" within a yogic model and why it is important to integrate breath into the relearning approach.
