Graduate Certificate in Yoga Therapy Teachers
The Graduate Certificate in Yoga Therapy is a unique opportunity for Yoga teachers to train as a Yoga Therapist. This course is recognised by the Australian Association of Yoga Therapists (AAYT). This course will be taught by some of Australia's most highly qualified and respected Yoga Therapists, including Leigh Blashki, Sal Flynn and Liz Bennett.
Leigh Blashki
Leigh Blashki is one of the pioneers of Yoga therapy in Australia. He directs the Australian Institute of Yoga Therapy, is the secretary of the Australian Association of Yoga Therapists, Vice President of Yoga Australia, a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists’ Council of Advisors and Council of Schools Standards Committee and a peer reviewer for the International Journal of Yoga Therapy. With influence from a number of traditions and teachers, including Sri Yogendra, Swami Gitananda, A.G. Mohan and Donna Farhi, Leigh has practiced Yoga for 40 years, taught for over 30 years, practiced Yoga therapy for over 20 years and had over 300 graduates from his Yoga teacher training and Yoga therapy training courses.
Sal Flynn
Sal Flynn is a Yoga therapist, psychotherapist and educator. Her formal and informal training blends the disciplines of Yoga, psychotherapy, education, contemplative practice, the arts and mind/body awareness practices. Underpinning her work is nearly 30 years of practice and study in the eastern traditions, along with education and internships in Western psychotherapy and Yoga therapies both in Australia and India. Sal Flynn began practicing yoga nearly 30 years ago and her practice is rooted in the tradition of Sri Krishnamacharya.
Liz Bennett
Liz Bennett is an experienced teacher of Applied Yoga Anatomy and Physiology, a practicing Physiotherapist and yoga teacher. After graduating from Simon Borg-Oliver and Bianca Machliss' 3 year apprentice training, Liz pursued her yoga studies with Michael De Manincor, in the tradition of Krishnamacharya. Liz has also trained and studied with Saraswathi Vasudevan, Lesley Kaminoff and Donna Farhi. Liz has been producing Applied Anatomy and Physiology courses for Sydney-based yoga teacher trainer courses, including YogaWorks, Qi Natural Therapies and Yoga, Life-Source Yoga and The Yoga Institute since 2006. During this time, Liz has worked with esteemed teachers, including Michael de Manincor, Christina Brown and Mark O’Brien.
