The practice of yoga often has therapeutic effects, but these are not limited to physical changes.
To study yoga is to examine our strongly held beliefs and to learn about our deepest selves.
This presentation will raise some of these issues in a context of how to live our life "off the mat" with awareness and compassion.

For example, the key to most things in life is our perception of things. The physical practices of yoga help us to have a more clear perception: we practice asana and pranayama to be able to experience life more directly. But perceiving with clarity is not enough. We need to then deeply examine our interpretation of things. How we interpret the actions and words of others will shape our life. What do we tell ourselves about what we hear and see? Not only do these "beliefs" we form about the world effect our literal neurology, they affect how happy and efficacious we are in the world.
