James Bone


James Bone is a physiotherapist, Yoga teacher/therapist, educator and writer. He is the co-director of Yoga Plus Therapies, a Yoga and physiotherapy business, which has been serving Brisbane for 16 years. James’ passion is in integrating eastern tradition with western science. He also has a special interest in the brain, neurophysiology and pain.

James has degrees in both Human Movement and Physiotherapy. He has been registered as a full time physiotherapist for over 22 years. He has a special interest in pain management and has worked in community health for over 15 years, in the area of preventative health, chronic disease and pain management. He is also a Bowen Therapist.

James has been teaching Yoga for over 16 years and is a Senior Level 3 member of Yoga Australia. He is also a member of and serves on the National Committee of the Australian Association of Yoga Therapists. He has a keen interest in Yoga as a therapy, and works with patients who have low back pain, neck pain, arthritis and musculoskeletal conditions.

He has a written two books, Yoga and Stronger for Longer. He has also produced a Yoga DVD and relaxation CD. He has presented for and written articles on Yoga for Yoga Australia, Australian Association of Yoga Therapists, IYTA, Queensland Health, Queensland Cancer Council and the Australian Physiotherapy Association.

He has had a keen interest in eastern traditions since a young age including martial arts, wushu, Tai Chi, and Chinese medicine and acupuncture. James has also studied Ayurveda, the traditional medicine of India.
